I used to have a wood stove. I got rid of it, too much work. I always ended up being too hot, when I used it. We are having more frequent power failures, last one 4hrs off, 2hrs on and then 15hrs off. I was lucky, some close by, were off for days. We only got down to 57F, but that was cold enough for me. So I bought a 7KW generator, by Honda. It supplies power graduated by demand. I hooked it up through a transfer switch to 6 circuits I wanted, furnace, fridge, freezer, microwave plus one other kitchen plug, lights and TV. I keep it in the garage, and plug the house in through a 100' 10X4 cable. I gave it a 1/2 hour test, and it works fine. More and more people seem to be buying generators, we definitely are an electricity oriented society. Glad you have everything back up and running, Ron. John M.
