REPLY:::::: I think that CO2--Dry Ice might be the best way to remove the wax-- put crushed ice into a cotton bag and set on the affected items, then with mitts break off the wax that should be as hard as sealing wax(for letters) You won't have any solvents migrating the wax anywhere, nor moisture effects.
