Hi David,

That's not half as amusing as some local "piano movers" who came to =
unload my 9' grand. *They* called it a baby grand and said they had =
never seen a piano that large. I breathed a sigh of relief when they =
fled the scene. Gee, don't ya' think they would have had a clue from my =
describing the piano as a 9' concert grand and asking them repeatedly, =
"Are you *sure* you've moved pianos this large before?" "You're sending =
4 guys, right??" =20

Fortunately three very professional men (Jerry Lee Mize and crew) were =
willing to drive in from Richmond (VA) to do the job. Not only had they =
seen a concert grand, but they had moved many of them -- and moved mine =
without breaking a sweat. (Real gentlemen, BTW.)

I wonder if people throw the term "baby grand" around as a term of =
endearment -- sort of like "his baby Jaguar" -- not meaning that it's =
small but that it's precious.

Peace,
Sarah
(now in the Newport News, Virginia area, BTW)

  David,
I don't hate the "Baby Grand" term but am amused by it. While =
examining a Steinway D in a pinao store 2 little old ladies came in and =
exclaimed, "Look at the baby grand"..

I have a caller who is looking at low priced and small "baby grands" =
(don't you hate that term). She has seen the Nordiska and Story & Clark =
Chinese pianos and asked me about them. Does anyone have any experience =
with these pianos as opposed to things like Pearl River? Her budget is =
not going to get her a grand piano in a much higher quality bracket. =
Any information would be better than my no information.

    Thanks,
