Anyone have any experience with this model baby grand? Bass strings breaking
in the winding, for instance?

Cy - I've had this problem on the same GA-1 model. Playing hard with the
sustain pedal depressed much of the time in a relatively large sanctuary (too
small of a piano for that venue, of course) leads to this kind of a problem.
Also, check to make sure the wippen flange screws are tight because if they are
not the hammers sometimes block causing breakage. Yamaha is great at
replacing bass strings. Make sure you count very accurately the string number when
you order.
