---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Greetings,=20 =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 In Feb '04 I tuned two church pia= nos that were below pitch.=20 They were=A0 down at about A430 or less. After I was done they were A440. I=20= did=20 pitch raises. This year, I went back and found that both pianos were about 1= 0=20 cycles sharp...and this is February...the heat has been on for 4+ months the= =20 things should be flat, if anything, right? But nooo.... they're sharp.=20 =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 On the first piano, (a Kawaii studio= upright) I thought: "Ok=20 this is in a basement (choir rehearsal room) and it could be that moisture=20 absorbed into the thing and so it's sharp". However, when I got upstairs to=20= the=20 sanctuary ( a Steinway console)=A0 piano, its even sharper(!) (about 3 cycle= s=20 sharper than the one in the basement) and a little business card of another=20= tuner=20 is in there; a date on it reads:=20 8-9-04=A0 A440...along with a list of other dates that indicated that they w= ere=20 tuned twice a year by this tuner. (That card with dates was in there last=20 February too). =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 I am a stickler for A440 so today I=20= took each of the pianos and=20 made them A4440 again. My question is: WHY? Why were these pianos so=20 ***@#$*#$%^% sharp!!!?? Could it be that the other tuner turned them up in August 04 after I was=20 there in Feb '04?=A0 The story was when I was called in that were tuned regu= larly by=20 this other tuner, (the card indicated such)=A0 Yet, the pianos were so flat=20 when I was called in, in Feb '04 that I had to pull them both up....what=20 gives????
