Sound-board modification

Andrew,

Before you get the saw and chisel into action, yes there will almost
certainly be things you can do after the event to improve the tonal
balance of the instrument. But first, why don't you take the lid off,
place a step ladder near the back of the piano and take an overhead
image of it with a digital camera and post it to the list. I'd be
interested in seeing it, and I'm sure that a few of us might be
interested in offering a couple of suggestions after seeing the
layout.

Another alternative, if your frightened of heights, would be to set
the piano on its side on the trolley/semi and photograph it from
floor level. This will also give you a better scaled image but its
more trouble.

Regards,
Ron O.

I know how you feel.
