Primary Instrument - was Cleaning bass strings

I have noticed that those who have an affinity with the lower end of the 
audio spectrum seems to attract its share of people into this field.

Why?

I think..and I said think..they may be able to hear/feel intervals 
easier..especially when learning the field.

Just a thought..nothing more. I don't know of any scientific evidence 
that claims anything in regards to this idea.
