Seems like I've seen them on Bechsteins as well. Generally I've found these pianos to be pretty clean in their terminations and have not noticed agraffe noise developing on these pianos. In fact, those thicker agraffes that are used in the treble seem to do a good job preventing leakage. With respect to this particular discussion, why not use this style agraffe rather than deal with hardening or plating?
