with a 'moving' action when the pianist  uses the pedals.  When replacing the 
action - I use a 3/4" square piece  of wood and a rubber mallet to seat it.

Thanks for the advice, Steve.  Some I have been able to pry out with  various 
tools and padding.  Getting them back in is not a problm,  either.  
 
I'll try the channel-lock technique next time, but I won't those heavy  
things in my tool kit!  Heck, even my car is starting to get too  heavy.
