Barbara, I'm no sound engineer, but that's an awful lot of room for any instrument to cover. A couple of well placed condenser mics for Classical performances seems only logical from what you've shared. Talk to the sound engineer of the hall..you'll come up with something that will work. I would shy away from a floor monitor and opt for a larger side fill facing the pianist for Classical performances. I like my brownies a tad chewy please.. Phil Bondi(Fl)
