<< What is the best way to repair a hitch pin on a new grand piano? Apparently, this one came out. Should I epoxy the same pin back in? Do they come in different sizes? >> I recently did one. It was a Steinway and it required a larger pin than the one originally installed. I managed to hammer the broken off stubb out the bottom of the plate,(there was room without hitting the soundboard). If you have one that has simply come out, you can reinstall it with a few strands of copper wire that you have unraveled from ordinary lamp cord. Two or three of these very thin strands will really make it tight as you hammer it it. I just made sure that the wires were not quite to the bottom of the hole, and then broke off the excess after the pin was in place. I didn't like the epoxy idea, but it may work just fine.
