Gordon,
To easily reference the position of the sides one can take an 1 1/2 or 2
inch chisel and make an indentation on both sides at the top and on both
sides at the bottom then when you put the sides back on you just line up the
chisel marks. Prior to gluing them back on you can put two brads on the side
of the backbrace and then cut them off leaving about 1/8 to 1/4 inch
sticking out and these will prevent the sides from slipping when you glue
them up. Or you can use the brads as dowel centers and drill for and install
dowels to hold everthing in place. I have never had any alignment problems
with this method. It is necessary to reinstall the keybed after you're
clamped up to keep everybody lined up.
And to Joe Garrett I would like to hear your method as well but I like
trying to come up with jigs it is fun for me and to have access to all these
creative minds makes it even more fun and who knows we might hit on
something that works really well and then everybody will want one.
I will post pictures of the saw etc. as soon as I can figure out how to do
that.
Thanks for all your help
Michael
