This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Joe, I must disagree with you. Viennese action pianos are not an = abomination. The good ones, such as Boesendorfer, Streicher, = Schweighofer et play very well. I have played a few in good condition, = and must tell you that if the original leather-covered hammers are still = in good condition, they can suound surprisingly well, yet different from = normal pianos. But they are indeed very different from grands with modern action. The = touch is much more direct but with somewhat less power and slower = repetition. While I wouldn't reccomenfd them as practice instrument for a young = pianist-wannabe, they are very good for the more knowledgeable people, = who can understand that the technique and the output are quite = different. That being said, I wouldn't recommend a Viennese piano to anyone unless = they really know what it is supposed to be. Pretty? Well, Maybe. A Piano? NOT! Although I work on those/these, I = can't recommend them to anyone. What an abomination!<G> A true PSO, IMO. BUT, the price is right!<G> Joe Garrett, R.P.T.
