One lifetime ago = when I was a hydrogeological consultant, a basic concept I dealt with = was the transmissivity of an aquifer. In rough terms it is a measure of = an aquifer's ability to produce water. The common metric units for = transmissivity is m2/s (meter squared per second). Get ready for this = one......... The American units are gallon/day/foot. Now you can picture in your mind m2/s, but just try to picture in your = mind gallon/day/foot! Try juggling those units around and very quickly you will see the = utility and simplicity of the metric system. Terry Farrell > You must be kidding. The metric system is way easier to work with. >=20 > Dean > Dean May cell 812.239.3359 > PianoRebuilders.com 812.235.5272 > Terre Haute IN 47802 >=20 > -----Original Message----- > From: pianotech-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces@ptg.org]On = Behalf > Of pianolover 88 > Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2004 10:21 AM > To: pianotech@ptg.org > Subject: RE: (OT) Metric - was The answer from Yamaha >=20 > Still haven't heard any arguments for WHY we should switch to metric = system; > why is it better than our American system?
