Ladies and Gentlemen----

A Model =B3C=B2 (7=B96=B2) that I selected new 15 years ago at Steinway Hall in
London, and that I=B9ve maintained ever since here in Los Angeles is,
improbably and miraculously, for sale.

I never thought I=B9d say those words about this instrument. I=B9ve tuned it at
least 100 times; its usage is less than 200 hours of very easy playing, and
less then 30 hours of =B3hard=B2 professional playing. It=B9s in literally
showroom condition, with a custom string cover and an excellent
leather-covered artist=B9s bench;
The finish is ebony matte, which is hellishly difficult to maintain, but IM=
O
the most beautiful finish.

For most of the 90=B9s I had carte blanche to maintain the piano in
recording/performance readiness 24/7.
Naturally, it=B9s been groomed and gone over to a very, very precise degree,
and has never wavered more than 3 cents up or down in my memory, even in th=
e
last couple years when the tunings went down to 6 or even 12 months. The
piano has led the ultimately pampered life, and has been played by Jack
Lemmon, Sammy Cahn, Billy Joel, Dyan Cannon, and on and on.

There were four new Hamburg C=B9s lined up in a back room in Steinway Hall
London; I was to select one for my client and one for his business partner,
with my client=B9s, naturally, being choice #1.

It was over in 5 minutes; I put my hands on all the pianos---they were all
relatively well in tune, and were regulated and voiced well---and this one
really did just jump out: so alive, so much more =B3echo,=B2 or =B3resonance,=B2
carry, sustain, whatever. A voice that caught my ear, my body, and
ultimately, my heart. If ya know what I mean. <g>

The price is $75,000 delivered within the continental United States. There
is, honestly, little room for negotiation at this price; the owner is a
savvy internationalist and knows what he has. I anticipate this instrument
to be sold to a special player or small venue/club/college or major league
recording studio. It=B9s a special, special piano, and once the right person
puts his/her hands on it, I doubt if money will be a burning issue.

I=B9d personally love to see the piano in a place where it=B9s played and
appreciated constantly rather than once in a blue moon.

Any interest in this can be pursued privately; compensation is involved. I
rarely get involved in this kind of brokerage, but this is a special client
(I=B9ve been working on his various Steinways for 20+ years) and a special
piano.=20

My best to all,

David Andersen

A BIG P.S. Can someone on the CAUT list assist me in getting this email
over there? Thank you.
