I've been conversing back and forth off list with Terry on this...in my experience with Yamahas, when I replace a broken string I mic and have found that area in between two bridge stamps, i.e. 13.5, 14 etc. is read from right to left, treble to bass. On Terry's piano the last size stamped on the bridge is 13.5. This is several unisons towards the bass from note #88. In other words there is no 13 stamped on the bridge! The size from #88 note down (towards the bass) to the 13.5 stamp is size 13 wire. From 13.5 stamp down (towards the bass) to 14 stamp is 13.5 and onward.
