Measure everything ... Take nothing for granted, trust no one ... and label
everything!
I once foolishly removed all wippens without numbering them, treated the
center pins and replaced them all in random order, creating a huge job in
further adjustments because the hammer line was now ridiculously uneven due
to mismatches with the capstans and knuckles. Had I numbered them, they
would have stayed in order and the action would have taken far less time to
regulate.

Ditto for screws and bolts. When removing a plate, take a piece of cardboard
box, draw the plate shape on the cardboard, use a pointy object to punch
holes through the cardboard at the locations of all the place screws, and
push the plate screws into place on the cardboard template.

Rule of thumb....

Always measure wires when replacing.  Take nothing for granted... trust
no-one.  Remember... Schultz had it right .
