Also to follow up on this.   You need to use a micrometer everytime you replace a string but if you need to use the sizes printed on the bridge or tuning pin are,  I've always looked to see if the smallest wire size 13 stamped begins at the very top, i.e. last unison, #88 then you are reading from right to left.   So from note #88 down to the next wire size of 13.5 the piano wire is 13.   If the 13 stamp begins several unisons before note #88 then you are reading from left to right...is this a clear as mud?
