Welcome, Tim, Obviously, damp air is a likely candidate. Tell us more about the climate control. Is it a Dampp-Chaser system installed in the piano, or a room dehumidifier? Why is it on a timer? Most dehumidifiers have a setting like a thermostat, and shut themselves on and off automatically. How long is it on per day? Have you measured the humidity in the air? --Cy Shuster-- Bluefield, WV ----- Original Message ----- From: "Timothy R Cochran" <trc3j@juno.com> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Thursday, October 14, 2004 5:24 PM Subject: Re: Sticking Keys > In this particular case we are dealing with a grand piano that sits in a > school chapel where the climate control is on timer and only runs a few > hours a day. After a very wet summer the action is pretty stiff.
