Hi Mark! I noticed that there's felt behind the simple agraffes in the treble. I suggest replacing this felt with a continuous metal bar (similar to a front duplex) and adding teh felt strip only between this bar and teh tuning pins. This will improve the sustain of the treble notes. The reason behind this is that the agraffe functions as a fulcrum, and the felt absorbs some of teh vibrating energy that leaks through the agraffe. The added bar would make a more rigid termination, and keep more energy in the speaking length. I you want to read more about this, I have posted a small article on my website, about experimenting with string terminations on my website, and also about how I applied the findings in a Steinway O grand.
