I think you're right. It's probably the keytops. With the naturals being the right overall thickness at the keytop, the sharps can be leveled at the proper height relative to the keytop with a shorter punching stack under the balance, and the bottoms of the naturals won't touch them. It also means that the front punching stack under the sharps will be shorter too, which means the naturals will clear them too. If the naturals are too thick compared to the sharps, you get the choice of either having the punchings interfere, or burying the sharps. Ron N
