Hi Ilex, The allen bolts are an original piece of equipment on one brand of piano, I forget which one and have only one to deal with. I changed them to hex head bolts so that the piano did not need to be pulled out from the wall to remove the lid for its yearly service. The WD40 is either a misunderstanding on the part of the client or pianos need to be guarded from service by this tooner.
