A Camembert box should work well for the "French pitch" (435 hz)

Hemholz's classic book on sound describes wooden stands that amplify tuning
forks, as well as resonant glass bottles and many other cool demonstrations.
As I remember it's kind of a hollow wooden box that you rest the fork on.

  Subject: Tuning fork

  Hello

I have heard of technicians mounting tuning forks on some sort of wooden
device so they can use the fork hands free. Can anyone tell me more about
these? Also would anyone have a photo of one.I would like to make myself
one.

  Thanks,
  Jack
