Have to share with all a recent service call. First call of the day, arrive to find a Kimball "upright grand" (Hamilton clone by all appearances). The owner informed me that she had to go to work, but that her parents were there, and that her dad would take care of me when I was done.
As she left, her dad appeared ( a fine country gentleman) who proceeded to say, "Yuck, yuck, That there's a fine pianer, bought it in "76, and it has never needed tuning" This immediately prompted a call to my next appointment to say I would be a bit late, lol. Amazing enough, the piano was only 100 cents flat, a minor miracle in my opinion.
Proceeded to do two pitch raises and a "fine" tuning, collected my pittance, and headed for the door. Couldn't resist as I left, .......................knowing that I shouldn't, ..................the devil made me do it.... So ....I said.....
"Call me again in thirty years when it needs tuning again."
