I wouldn't bother with messing with the felts at all, unless they're just plain worn out. The little screws are the adjustments to achieve just enough lift in the hammer assy to allow the jack to return under the hammer butt for better repetition. Any more adjustment than that will prompt the hammer assy to double strike the strings. Great idea, that thing.
