Hello Stephane (I wish I could put an acute accent on my "e" - just for
you!) Hello List
This enchanting thread smacks of the very ephemeral stuff that is so much a
part of the exciting life of the professional musician/tuner.... It was
said:
"I have to admit that Anglo-Saxon culture has proven to be some more
poetical
about piano designations than the French one.
But noone would joke about giving a kiss to a baby grand, and expect it to
change into a charming prince. I have to admit also that I didn't try this
myself, as I never had a baby grand (yet)."
Ah! Le Grenouille! Maintenant je comprends....
Tell me.... do you, like me, talk to your pianos as you tune them? Some
encouraging words? Like "Come on! Just that little bit more...! Yes! Good! "
... Mad??? Not a bit! Pianos are sensitive - after all they're made of all
the elements and so must respond to something other than brute force. Mark
you I wouldn't go so far as to make this public! But then - the list isn't
public.... or is it? Doubtless I shall soon discover....
Regards from a darkening night settling over this village in the Sussex
Downs...
