transparent string cover?

First, I think it spells goretex. It's a water resistant breathable fabric
used mainly for raincoats and outdoor hiking ang skiing wear. The stuff is
expensive and I've never seen any transparent coats on the ski slopes. Now
this could get interesting though... ;-)
