A while back I replaced the hammers on an 1890s Fisher upright. The =
belly was left original. I used Abel Encore hammers from Wally Brooks. I =
was amazed and very pleased with the way the hammers made the piano =
sound. Part of my thinking in using the Abel hammers is that an old =
soundboard may need a bit firmer hammer as it has likely lost some =
efficiency. Anyway, worked for me and I would do the same again.

Greetings,
I would like to replace an old upright Becker =
Brother's hammers. What are the best hammers for old turn of the century =
pianos? What hammers have the best quality?
Thank you
