The action is similar to a modern Yamaha in that the center pins are held in place by a butt plate. Somewhere around here, I've got my notes for the piano if anyone's interested. Yeah, I thought about getting it for myself, but then it would sit in the shop for the next couple of decades. :-) John Formsma -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces@ptg.org]On Behalf Of Farrell Sent: Thursday, June 03, 2004 4:29 AM To: Pianotech Subject: Re: A Genuine Upright Grand Miller made some awesome pianos back then. I know their grands were well built - I can only imagine the uprights were massive pianos also. Someone in your area should jump on such a piano - have Del redesign it - make a killer upright out of it! Miller upright from around that era. It needs everything - if anyone's interested, the owner would probably like to be rid of it. We had an 1890 Steinway upright in the shop that looked like that: massive laminated rim on the soundboard. On closer inspection, it was just a cutoff bar; it didn't go all the way around. It was on the opposite side from your picture: on the top of the treble side. --Cy Shuster-- Bluefield, WV ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
