---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment List, I have finished my 2nd Steinway action restoration using the newly acquired Werzen felt through Ronsen. After some minor hammer filing, some light shoulder needling, along with fitting the hammers to the string, the sound on both of these instruments is enough to make me cry. The top 1 1/2 octaves did need a little juice in the lower shoulders, but that was it. The one Steinway was an O which had a new board, Arledge bass strings, and new action. The other was a 85 note Steinway A with original strings and board, with a new action. It's an amazing marvel to have that quality of sound without any hint of surface hammer noise adding to the mix. Just a beautiful sound top to bottom. I'm eager to watch these hammers mature over time and track their behavior.
