Advertising on your car or truck?

Hi Cy,
I have vinyl lettering with my phone number on the back side windows of my Camry wagon. I've had people call while I'm on the freeway, but have only gotten a couple of new clients from this type of advertising. Customer referrals work better for me.

I like having the lettering on the car when I drive up to a new customer's home, though.. It tells who I am, and that I'm confident enough that I advertise publicly. I've been warned that someone will break in and steal my tools, but it hasn't happened yet (knock on wood).

Looking in the new directory, it looks like some of those techs that work for the dealer need to join the PTG! Anyone know who services the pianos at WV Wesleyan in Buckhannon? I'm going to be there next week for a conference.

p.s. James Dally, I was born in Clarksburg, too!! 4/57 at St. Mary's Hospital.

Do you have advertising on the vehicle you drive? What works best?I use the same car for tuning and personal use (a Forester). We don't have front license plates here in West Virginia, so I was thinking of making one with my company name and phone number. Then it occurred to me that it might be more effective to put lettering on the back window, where someone following me might see it long enough to copy the number down. Then an even better idea came to me: ask for your combined millions of years of experience.
Suggestions?

P.S. I visited a piano dealer near me this week (western part of Virginia), and they said between their two stores, they keep 16 techs busy! Let's see, 20 pianos a week * 50 * 16 = 16,000 pianos!! (Maybe I heard wrong, and it was "six teenage techs"?)
