What is the ornate walnut veneer used on many 1920's players?

Hmmmmm. Okay. Maybe it IS "burl walnut", by the
picture of the panel in the attachment. BUT it is NOT
"burl walnut" as I know the definition: meaning from a
"burl", or viral knot on a tree branch.
Nor was "burl" the name used in the veneer photo I saw
previously. Walnut veneer from the trunk near the
roots sounds most plausible. In any event, the framed
veneer panel in the attachment looks most like it. I
have a Lindemann player in it, and could use some for
the lid. Actual "burl" ( viral node ) veneer is never
big enough for a whole lid, burls being, at
largest, beach-ball sized.
