That''s right Tom the Maple is ligther.  After weighing a few sets against 
the sapele they average about 1/2 gram lighter  per hammer. Hey 1/2 gram is a 
1/2 gram when you're trying to make  weight.Right?

Ray  Negron at Ronsen Hammers, a great guy to do business with.  If you  do
make the order may I suggest asking for the soft white maple core  instead of
the mahogany core. It's a tad lighter and will help with touch  weight.
Also since they do all of the production at their facility you can  specify
for a longer tail ( Steinway in particular) if needed.
