    Not totally.  Trumpeters and violinists and drummers have to learn about
their instruments because they have to take them apart to clean valves,
lubricate slides, change a bridge, a tailpiece, or a string, or to tighten,
loosen, or replace a drumhead.  But pianists, I find, including most piano
teachers, don't show much interest in care and maintenance.  They know it
needs tuning every 5 to 10 years, and that's about it.  I try to educate
them anyhow, but many times it's like forcing a teenager to like school.
