There is not way to fix pricing in this business. There are too many techs
each with a different price. There are as many per hour fee variations as
there are technicians.

My reason for asking was to get an idea of the difference of hourly rate
between two coasts, big city, rural area, or whatever locale we are to be
found. I suspect prices are higher in the big cities and higher yet on
either coast in their big cities. I expect rural areas to be impressively
low. But then there is always drive fee that must be charged.

      Hi D.L.
What does D.L. stand for brethren? Just curious.
Here on the West coast in Calif. Bay area the cost of living is
significantly higher & thus higher shop rate prevails than say in the central Valley
where I am. We are officially a Bay are commuter community 85 miles away which is
driving up real estate prices & hence the cost of living higher is climbing.
but still more affordable. You'll find shop rates in Valley the $50 to $60
Per hour.
My home & shop are at the same location In Modesto & fortunately the cost
come under one umbrella but if I had to rent 3 K. Square feet in the SF bay
area I'd have to charge at least $75 pr hour.
5o Miles away from Modesto in the Sierra foothills folks balk at a 80 to
$90 tuning fee. Here it's about 100 to $125. In the Bay it's higher I'm told,
appox.$150 or more depending & they have to fight the traffic to get
anywhere. There is so much de-pend-in going on in this business that there is no
price fixing possible.
