Since getting out of retail, I no longer "have" to compare. As far as actions go, well..... Brambachs had a grand action, La Petites had a grand action......... > That should >provide the "feedback" you are talking about--and >would be better than almost any upright as far as >"feel" goes. Fair generalization, to an extent. The hammers are bouncing off of.... and the dampers are resting on..... and how long are the keys?....... Not to sound negative, so much as to point out that the "system" of the instrument is more tan the sum of the parts. A rep for a major mfg. once told me that even with the best touch and sound manipulation, ya still gotta use a board under tension as a speaker..... so..... it's cheaper to build and maintain a piano! >BTW I'm not a keyboard fan in any sense of the word. And..... in some sense(s) of the word, I am a fan. <G> I had a lot of fun with some of the keyboard instruments I sold, and used, for that matter. I also suffered a fair amount of frustration with a few. Just for the record, I was always impressed with General Music from Italy. Good polyphony and damper modeling. Nice warranty, also. Higher end pro line stuff with "after-touch" programmable effects can be a load of fun. Amazing devices, if you can get past the learning curve............. ===== >Regards, >Don Rose, B.Mus., A.M.U.S., A.MUS., R.P.T. >3004 Grant Rd, Regina, SK, S4S 5G7 >Tuner for the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts Later, Seņor, Guy Nichols, RPT Ft.
