This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment I live in a well tempered climate, and I don't need personally a damp Chaser, but my piano needs one if I want to avoid any soundboard crack in time Even in our not too excessive conditions, the absence of soundboard crack is the exception, not the rule. It is mostly due to the drying of the wood in winter, (40% RH and less) while at spring and summer the usual 55 65 % relative humidity is enough to allow the wood to compress a bit. So even not so bad conditions are enough to have problems with time, IMO. I had amazing results with DC to correct extra humidity level in homes BTW.
