Tom: According to the classes I have taken on Steinway hammers, the =
hammers always need to be treated to bring out the tone. If you get a =
hold of the Steinway manual, it will give you some more info on this =
procedure, or search the PTG archives.=20

  Subject: Steinway V hammers

  List

New Steinway hammers on an old V don't sound as good as the old ones. =
I have sanded off the fuzz a bit, but I'm wondering: do they need to be =
lacquered like the grand hammers do? They sure seem on the dull side...

  Thanks in advance,
