David, That's really bad luck. If you've never seen Charles Faulk's titanium tuning hammers, you might give him a try. They're beautifully crafted to your specifications, light weight and resilient. Charles is great to work with, also. At least drop him a note and ask him to send you some photos of his hammers....you'll want to find out more once you see them. His email address is: cfaulk2@juno.com. Good luck, whatever you decide. jeannie Jeannie Grassi, RPT Associate Editor, Piano Technicians Journal mailto:jcgrassi@earthlink.net mailto:jcgrassi@earthlink.net -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces@ptg.org] On Behalf Of david heidel Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 7:41 AM To: Pianotech Subject: TUNING HAMMERS/LEVERS I just had my tuning case stolen from my car and am in the process of replacing everything, including the hammer. Does anyone have recommendations as to a quality hammer - Schaff, Watanabe, Jahn, Yamaha, Faulk? Would love to hear your advice.
