The Stringer or a curtain rod?

Jerry queried: "Joe,
Can you explain this a little bit? Sounds like a great idea.

Jerry et al,
For a bass sting: put the safety pin, (open), into the sting loop; close the
safety pin around it's future neighbor; slide it down, (with the damper
pedal depressed, to clear them); go to the bottom; unsnap the safety pin and
proceed. Put a hemostat, (curved), over the hitch pin to keep the string on
the hitch pin, while you work at the tuning pin. Simple and effective. For
plain wire: make the usual bend, (for the hitch); tape the safety pin to the
bend; attach to a neighboring string and proceed as with the bass string.
