I called Yamaha and.................. ( bobbling hammers on new U3 )

I was very surprised by their answer. I had a very
nice chat with the fellow at tech support. He said
this is not an uncommon problem and suggested: 
1) Regulate carefully to factory specs. 
2) If problem persists, suppress sustain pedal and
play notes again. If this clears them up, then weaken
damper springs.
    This answer surprised me, as I would think that
strong damper springs would help to quickly push the
wippen back to the "rest" position when the key was
released, allowing the jack to slide back to its
"rest" position quickly, too!
    But sometoimes my brain works in reverse, and if
this is what they recommend, this is what I'll try.
    Will report on results.
