Hi Dave,
                  The buck skin is Escane,  doubt there will be much fuzz 
there.
   Your advice to phone Yamaha USA is excellent.  Safe for the tech and the 
customer.
   Since it is spring. I would bet a dime it is humidity related,  Pull on 
the hammer rail a little, and make sure that all hammers follow.
