greetings

I serviced a Kimball spinet not too long ago that the hammers
"bubbled"/bounced off the strings when you went to strike a key, there was no
let off. It was worse in the treble than the bass. Here, the let off rail was
loose. it was more loose in the treble than the bass. The let off rail's support
brackets had slipped out of their screws. The solution was to slip the rail's
support brackets back under their respective screws (about 6 or 8 of them)
and tighten them. After that the let off was just fine and no more bubbling
occurred.
