Steinway Sostenuto

Perhaps you are right and the noise does occur on flex tab systems, now
that I think about it a bit more.  The customer apparently wants to be able
to sustain a single note and then move his foot off the sostenuto pedal
while the sustain pedal is engaged.  This forces the sostenuto lever (which
is up) to slide past all the tabs when being the sustain pedal is being let
go, and when they finally let go, KTHUNK, I kthink.  Oh well, it must have
been a dream.
