It was my judgment that this piano did not warrant the investment of my clients' money and my time for a big repair. Twenty minutes and five bucks worth of CA and this thing is tunable and playable. Are there pianos that deserve more than a "band aid"? Of course, but the limitations of a 1930's stencil piano in my opinion make the CA repair the best choice in my opinion. Time will tell on the longevity of the CA pin block treatment but buying some years of use for an otherwise unusable piano such as this is for little cost and effort makes sense to this technician.
