Some cheaper, smaller pianos have the backposts terminate near the = base of the pinblock - a piano like that with a broken back is probably = toast. I did a = repair on a good 1/2-inch separation a while back and seem to recall = that pitch went up about 200 cents. So depending on how much you will be = moving your assembly.
