They come in a VERY concentrated liquid form, allowing you to either a) dilute to use as a dye stain, or b) add by the drop to any finish for toning. Interestingly, they are soluble in water or alcohol or lacquer. Certainly would yield better clarity than glazes, while maintaining lightfastness. Just another option in a finisher's arsenal.
