Don't know if there's any connection - 'bout 20 years ago I ran across a Farrand Cecilian upright, ex player, which was an exceptionally nice sounding piano. If this small grand was made by the same people, it may well be a better piano than it looks like, but I don't know enough history. I think the Cecilian was from just after WWI, and a few years later could make 'all bets are off'. Wouldn't you agree that those 'cheap microgrands' varied a lot in quality? Sometimes I've been very pleasantly surprised. Suggest you take a look if it's not too far away.
