The cast ground out easily, but prepare extra stones. The groove was shallow, just enough to keep the rod in place at the desired dimension. I don't have the records here, but I think we removed 1/16" from the capo bar to get it clean, then ground a 1/16" deep groove for the rod. Some sanding took down the sharp edges. Paul Chick
