Ross Judging from calls I've gotten, sometimes five or more years - then suddenly go out of tune just before tomorrow's party. The trick of keeping a piano in tune seems to be not telling it about the party. Other than that, presuming it's possible to get a piano exactly in tune (which I highly doubt), some part of the tuning will be measurably different almost immediately. In my world, a piano that's 2c off doesn't need tuned. But then I've never been called to tune a piano that was only 2c off, so that's just an impression. Yes, I do impressions. Ron N
